It is important to plan ahead for your outdoor The season you select to do your portraits in always determines the look of the portraits. Spring has the tall grass, flowers (if available at the location you have selected) and vibrant colors of foliage. The problem with spring is that it is close to the end of the school year, so many times portraits will not make it back in time to be mailed out with announcements. Weather is also a problem in spring. Showers are more frequent and if it is a cold winter causing a late spring, the foliage and trees will have little in the way of leaves. October still provides beautiful green backgrounds while in November the Backgrounds start turning to the fall colors. Changing Clothing can also be a challenge in many of the outdoor locations. Restrooms/Changing Rooms are not always available. For this reason it is a good idea for ladies to wear a work-out top and shorts or swimsuit under their first outfit. This way if you must change in your car or use our large reflectors to change behind, it won't be embarrassing. Guys can do the same. Outdoor portraits have a natural look and feeling. Because of this, you should bring clothing that is more casual. Leather, Jean or Letter Jackets all work well. Cotton or Flannel shirts, sweaters, jeans, summer tops with shorts or casual skirts, ETC. Elegant clothing works on the beach, but not at traditional outdoor locations. Both women and men can go barefoot for full length portraits. If you don't want to go barefoot, make sure to bring the correct color of socks (for guys, that means white socks don't go with everything, so bring dark sock for dark pants!) and the appropriate shoes. Swimsuits at the Beach Most seniors don't wear swim wear at the beach or in their session, although some seniors do. This can only be done with a parent at the session and with parent permission. When it comes to clothing, bring more than you will need. The photographer will help you select what will look best for the scene and the look you are going for. Accessories, like sun glasses, scarves or hats can give the portrait a unique look so bring them if it fits your style. ALSO, make sure if you want to include any personal props (football, basketball, stuffed animal, Etc.) you bring it with you to your session. While a reflection in sunglasses isn't a problem, because you can't see your eye, Prescription glasses will glare outside so get empty frames or don't wear them! It seems that when doings sessions outdoors, it is either hot or cold, but rarely comfortable. If it is going to be a hot on the day of your session, make sure that you bring translucent powder, yes for you guys too. This reduces the shine on your face. If the day is going to be cooler, bring a warm jacket to wear while you are not being photographed. Many seniors ask about sessions at specific locations, other than those we have listed. While we can schedule sessions like this, they are not offered at the same low price as our standard Double Take Sessions. Another thing to keep in mind, is that while a location may be special to you or even beautiful in your eyes, many locations don't photograph like they appear to your eye. T Horses, Cars/Trucks/Motorcycles, Dogs and other props can be included in your photographs. Domestic Pets are allowed at any outdoor locations. Autos can be photographed at any location, but not on the grass at most locations. With cars, many seniors want a street look rather than a natural setting. This can be done at any location on the parking lot. As in the studio, please be early to your session. If you are late, chances are your appointment will need to be rescheduled. If the location you are going to has a entry fee, make sure to bring that money with you, because they will not let you in the parks without it Just Say Where..., I'll be There..." 416.657.2954 Studio & Gallery Located in Toronto, Canada.534 McLevin Ave. Toronto.Ontario.M1B 4H5.
